We work with many different teams in diverse sports such as soccer, Gaelic football, hurling, camogie, rugby and AFL. We’ve also had the opportunity to work in many different countries such as England, Australia, North America as well as Ireland.

We are highly skilled and up to date in pre-match fitness testing, injury screening, mobility / soft tissue work, strapping and kinesiotaping; in-game First Aid, CPR, concussion and acute injury control.

Why use pitch side physiotherapy?

The GAA, IRFU and FAI advise the use of a Chartered Physiotherapist pitch side because research has shown pre match management, such as strapping, prevents injury and promotes the safety of players in the case of concussion and other serious injuries is much improved.

To provide the best care to players we regularly attend specialised training in First Aid, CPR and concussion protocols to ensure we are up to date.

Providing post-match injury assessment and management, ongoing rehabilitation, return to play and re-injury prevention plans is a top priority for all players included in pitch side physiotherapy.

We also have the advantage of a large rehabilitation area at our Galway Physio Clinic in Carnmore to implement these rehabilitation and return to play injury prevention plans.

In addition, Chartered Physiotherapists promote early and accurate diagnosis of the type and extent of injury and how to best manage the situation in the days and weeks ahead to ensure the quickest possible and permanent return.
